I also provided treatment to the locals and soldiers in the Balkans and Africa, dealing with injuries raging from being struck by roadside mines and other hidden explosives. I was in charge of operating the evacuation and treatment section of my unit. I educated and trained soldiers in basic medical survival skills as a non commissioned officer medical supervisor.
I left service in 2003 and now I work as an administrator for the Department of Defense. My career plans deal with returning to work for the government as a nurse. I want to be of a great help to people and to serve my government in the best way I can. I know this nursing program is essential for me because it will make this goal possible. It is hard work but the future result- the knowledge I will possess is a great stimulus for me. I also know that the military is in shortage of nurses.
